Zonda Cloud

Use your own domain

You can serve a Zonda Cloud app under your own domain: add it in the console, create a DNS record that points to Zonda Cloud, and the HTTPS certificate is issued on its own once the DNS points there.

The steps

  1. In the app, open Domains and add your domain, for example www.tudominio.com.
  2. At your DNS provider, create the record the console shows you.
  3. Wait for the domain to go from “pending” to “active”: it is re-checked on its own about every half minute, or instantly with the Verify button.

Which record to create

  • Subdomain (www.tudominio.com): a CNAME record pointing to the name the console gives you.
  • Root domain (tudominio.com): a CNAME is not valid at the root of a zone. Use an A record pointing to the addresses the console shows, or an ALIAS/ANAME pointing to the same name if your provider offers it.

If your DNS is on Cloudflare, leave the record as “DNS only” (grey cloud): with the proxy turned on, traffic does not reach Zonda Cloud and the certificate cannot be issued.

HTTPS certificate

Once the DNS check passes, the domain becomes active and the HTTPS certificate for that name is issued automatically, with nothing for you to install.

Rules and details

  • A domain points to a single app and a single branch; by default, the main one. You can move it to another branch without verifying it again.
  • You cannot use names the platform already uses, such as the zondacloud.com addresses of other apps.
  • If you stop pointing the DNS to Zonda Cloud, the domain goes back to “pending” and stops being served.
